Would Apple’s New Patent bring in glowing Trackpads?

Apple has filed for a patent that could be used to illuminate the touchpad in its line of notebook computers. But instead of what seems like an attempt from Apple to prevent people from falling asleep on their notebook keyboards by casting light directly into their eyes, the patent is stating otherwise.
